Day 1 complete!

We all successfully made it from DC to Kalamazoo Michigan. We started at about 10:15, took about an hour to get out of the district and from there it was smooth sailing! We got here at about 9 and spent some nice quality time teaching Marley how not to be afraid of rocking chairs, dark rooms and her own food.

Highlights of the trip today:
- stopping at an awesome Ohio rest area with a panera
- listening to a book on cd that is way too complicated to listen to
- Erika and me still being friends
- joking about how Erika's brother and sister and law have the same names as my mom and dad - jennie and David (just wait till we find out that both our moms do the same type of job!)
- me changing the wind shield wipers
- and of course getting to spend time with jennie, David, Kyle, gabriella and the cats

Yay! Ohio rest stops. Someone (a native)was bragging about them on NPR recently. The Barry family memory of them is not only good restaurants but free electric hook-up for the camper, even dump stations! How hospitable. Even Walmart parking lots don't have that. Safe travels. Lorraine
