A guest essay

Today I woke up and greeted my mom Erika, and then saw my new friend Zeke. He's much bigger than me, but he makes me feel comfortable in this house. I was playing around with Zeke when Sam came downstairs! He and Erika ate breakfast while Sam's mom was playing the piano.
Then, Erika and Sam took Zeke and me to a park. It was like other parks that I had been to before, but there is this new white stuff on the ground that is so much fun! I heard Erika calling it snow. It's great because I can run around in it, but I can also eat it, and when I eat it, it turns into water somehow. I haven't seen too much of this snow stuff at home, so I guess it's really only in these last couple of places that we've visited.

Snow, snow, snow!

Zeke and I were having a great time. It took him a while to figure out that I wanted him to chase me, but he got it eventually. As always, Erika took a really long time to throw me the ball, but I just love it when she throws it so I can go and chase! And that snow, I love it! Then some other dogs came, and one was a big meanie, so Erika and Sam took us home, but sitting in the back with Zeke was so much fun!

Chase, chase, chase!

Then when we got back, Sam and Erika had lunch, and then left to go somewhere, but I hung out here with Zeke and Sam's mom. Sam's mom went up to do some work, so I just sat under her desk while she did her thing. Then Sam's dad came home and played with Zeke and me for a bit, and took us on a walk. Sam's dad lets me pull on the leash a little bit more then Erika, which was nice. After the walk, I went back into my house, and took a nap while everyone left, and now, I'm getting ready for bed, watching Sam and Erika relax after a long day.

Erika's trying to get me to eat food, but she should know better and put some cheese on it. I'm a classy chick, I need some toppings on my kibble.

This trip has been pretty crazy so far, and from what I hear, it's not even half way over. Maybe there will be more snow to come, or even something different. And wouldn't it be fun if I got to meet another friend?

Marley,
You'll be glad to know we have TWO kinds of parmesan cheese to dress dog food with in Florida, sometimes even meat scraps! Too bad my dog park is 20-30 minutes away. It would be a great place for you to show off your fine sheep dog heritage. However, you will find lizards to chase in the yard, and there is a tree frog in the Christmas tree I haven't been able to nose out yet. Better than the snake we had in the tree one year. Florida is pretty wild country! We had a black snake in the tree outside the stairwell window a while back. Oh, and then there's the squirrels on the bird feeder! Looking forward to sharing my bed with you.

Marley, I wonder whether Bodri will remember you jumping up and blowing in his ear. It probably gave him an additional reason to live after he was so sick last year.

Great photos and movies!
